Bed bugs are back! The tiny insects that live in beds used to appear mostly in nursery rhymes and the saying "don't let the bedbugs bite" thanks to good hygiene and modern pesticides, but bed bugs are making a comeback thanks in part to increased travel to parts of the world where they are more common. One study reported that hotels in every state of the US have had problems with bedbugs! Once a bedbug finds its way into your mattress or carpet, it's hard to get rid of. You might need a bed bug killer.

Bedbugs are small insects who live in mattresses, bedding, carpet, or other places near where animals or humans sleep. They're attracted to the warmth an animal gives off, and come to feed on blood during the night. Signs of bedbugs include waking up with tiny, itchy bumps where the bugs have fed. Bedbugs are very hardy creatures, being able to stand extreme cold, hot, and drought. They can also go for months without a meal, making them good candidates for traveling to far away locations. They can hitch a ride on a pillow or piece of luggage and be far away from home in no time. One way to fight them is to use a pesticide.

Bed Bug killers

Since they're so tough, a bed bug killer must be strong or smart. One great one is DDT, which has been banned in the US since the early 1970's. This is one reason for the resurgence of bedbugs. However, there are many effective sprays and powders for controlling bedbugs. Most require that you place them on or near your mattress. Note that products like Off that contain DEET will not kill or repel a bed bug.

If you suspect that you have bedbugs and want to use a bed bug killer, you will probably have to do some work. Take all the bedding off the bed and remove furniture and other objects from around the bed. Remember that bed bugs can live in carpet and cracks near the bed too, so be sure to attack them there. Dust the bed with the bed bugs killer spray or powder according to the instructions on your insecticide. Be careful if you have children or pets not to expose them to the product.

To get the greatest effect, you'll probably need to apply insecticide or bed bug killer several times. Be sure to wash your bedding often. To kill bedbugs in the bedding, wash in very, very hot water. Use bleach if possible. Apply the product and wash your bedding every day if possible. Vacuum your mattress thoroughly and also vacuum around your bed. If your infestation is sever, you'll probably need to call an exterminator.

Bedbugs are tough little creatures that can really ruin your day. Bed bug killers can be used to combat them if they get into your home. Follow the directions on the package, wash your bedding often, and be patient. You can get rid of your bed bugs!
