Insects aren't fun in the house, and an ant infestation can really ruin your day. Fire ants are the worst, but any ants can really be a pain in the neck. They get in the kitchen, in bathrooms, and sometimes even in children's rooms. They can be hard to get rid of, and sometimes hundreds of them can get in your house without you even knowing until it's too late. Ant infestations are an unwelcome summer event.

Luckily, there's lots of help on the internet. You can find ways to get rid of the ants and keep them out of your home, you can share your stories with other, and you can read about other people's experiences. You may even be able to find a good deal on products to help you get rid of your visitors.

The first place you usually find ants is in the kitchen. Ants are drawn to places with water and food. Sweet food is especially attractive to ants, and many ant infestations are caused by spilled soda or other sweet drinks. Ants come in from outside, so see if you can find out where they're coming from. Stopping them there is sometimes easier and may keep them from coming back. Your garbage might also attract ants, so make sure you take it out regularly. Ants can come in through the tiniest cracks and holes, so you might have to look carefully to find the source of your ant infestation.

Another place ants like is the bathroom. You might notice them coming from under the sink or behind the toilet. Ants like sources of water, so this is one place they're often found. Again, check to see if there's an obvious source of them coming from outside.

Whether you rent or own your house, make sure you try to tackle your ant problem before you call or pay anybody else. An ant infestation is usually pretty easy to clear up if you take the right steps and give it a day or two. One of the most useful products you can get is called Amdro. It's marketed to fight fire ants, but it kills lots of different species. The reasons it's popular are that it's effective, easy to apply, and relatively safe. It doesn't contain the neurotoxins that are in many other ant products. It works quickly, and if your ants are coming from outside it may clear up your problems very easily and cheaply.  Another solution is ant spray.  Spray may be all you need if your problem is small.

Remember: you can fix your ant infestation with a little internet research and patience! Good luck!
